Beautiful Orlando

A summer is not complete if my brother and his family won’t go out for a vacation. His kids look forward to these vacations so he always make sure he books early on to avoid hassles. Months ago he made reservations for Orlando vacations and that’s where they were two weeks ago.

My family have plans of visiting them next year. I’m praying we’ll have a longer vacation so we can also visit Orlando. I’ve heard so much about the place and it’s long been in my wish list.

The Stubborn Old Man

As a Lay Minister, my FIL is very active in all church activities in their parish. Even after he was hospitalized a few months ago because of heart attack, (the doc warned him he shouldn’t tire himself) he still visits the church every day and even joins the weekend vigils. We’re worried because after the attack he’s been showing signs of dementia. Mom is thinking of putting up a small altar in the house where he could pray and meditate so he doesn’t need to leave the house often. She even thinks of getting him an ergonomic kneeling chair (cool huh!) I’m not sure if FIL is open to the idea, he’s a stubborn old man. But hubs says, he will change his mind once he sees the chair. He’s nuts about cool gadgets.

My precious! No, I’m not impersonating Golum of Lord of the Rings. I’m talking about how my son calls his coin collection. He’s been collecting all kinds of coins for quite some time now. Some are old and some are very recent. Among his collection, he treasures most are the silver and gold coins. These are not just rare but very valuable. He rarely buys and most are presents from friends and relatives. Its quite a collection and I’m very sure that its going to appreciate in value in the future. Rummaging through my old stuff, I picked up a small box that was given to me by my late grandmother. Still wrapped and unopened, it was for my 18th birthday. I must have forgotten about it and simply kept it. I shook it a bit to try and guess what’s inside. I opened it and inside was a small red bag. To my surprise, it contained more than two dozen gold coins. All these years, I had been sitting on a pot of gold. I wonder how they’re worth now?
